Dirt Movement Ethos

  • We dig and wedge stone from the earth using tools created from metals sprinkled between thousands of layers - thousands of years of sediment. The now truckloads of ground stone are spread across land creating pathways for transportation and recreation.

Around 3000 BC the first engineered roads were dug into the earth to make the transportation of resources more effective. Humans soon found that crushed stone and sand could be mixed with water to create concrete. Soon after, hot tar was used to create roads, similar to the tar that bubbled from the earth thousands of years earlier.

Dirt Movement is a concept that reminds us that we may be far from the days of dinosaurs, but we are still connected over centuries by movement across the earth’s surface.

As long as living creatures have moved across the face of the earth there has been dirt. Movement is an instinct. It’s natural.

Movement is a indisputable human freedom. It’s medicine.

Everything went from analog to digital, to automated, to virtual and virtual reality, and now artificial intelligence.

Dirt Movement is physical movement across the face of the earth. Dirt Movement is a calm that happens in our souls connecting us to thousands of years of history.

There is a stillness through movement. We can do more by doing less.

    Let’s come back to earth.

    Dirt Movement

  • Everyone is equal and we are all here for the same reason. Get outside, move our bodies, and seek calm and build community.

Dirt Movement is a safe place for all ages, genders, the LGBTQIA+ community, or however you identify. We identify as your friends.

  • Our events are different.

    1. Our goal is to create event experiences that build character, community and celebrate the ethos of Dirt Movement.

    2. We do our best to blend all forms of movement - having our events share the same roads, at the same time, with the same support team.

    3. We believe in choice. You will always have options on course, whether its course lengths or difficulty.

You should be able to ride with your friends all day even if one of you wants to take a single-track detour every now and then. Each variation is roughly the same distance so you can meet back up.

    4. We also want you to be able to choose your own adventure with our playlist and merch. For each event YOU and your fellow participants will create the event playlist. It’s your event so you set the vibe.
